American Airdate: March 05, 2005
Important Characters: Ed, Al, Winry, Pinako, Major Armstrong
Important Locations: Resembool Village
Synopsis: Ed and Al visit Reesembool for repairs for their bodies. Pinako and Winry give the Elric brothers a warm homecoming welcome after the brothers had burned their home and left in search for the Philosopher's Stone..that is, after having thrown shouting matches with eachother.
Side Note
For anyone wondering what it was the little bar said that appeared above Ed and Al's heads when Pinako commented on Ed's height for the first time, it mentioned that the height of Ed was being compared to how high up Al was being held over Armstrong's shoulder.
Cut
For some reason, after the commercial break, an outter shot of the Rockbell home was cut out and skipped directly to the Rockbells readying Ed's limbs to be attached. This also cuts out when Winry mentions that it's the time Ed's been waiting for, in a sarcastic tone. Here's a look at the scene cut.
Added Dialogue
Al got some added dialogue. When Ed's remembering about the time of when he and Al were younger and were looking at their mother's grave, the only thing we originally heard was Ed saying "Al, let's bring mom back." Al said nothing. Then when the sparring match between Al and Armstrong occured, all Al did was a simple shout rather than saying anything in particular before grappling with him.
Changed Dialogue
Little error on FUNi's part. Al mentions that he feels great after being repaired. Problem is that Al's mentioned before that he cannot feel anything physically. Originally he commented about how he looks fine.
Final Thoughts
A very nice episode to show some character development between the characters who were once considered as side characters. Plus a little more of a look on the brothers' past. The dub was handled quite well, although there's VERY little changes, they didn't affect the outcome of the episode. So I'd say it turned out quite well.
