Synopsis: Edward is still devastated over the loss of Nina and being unable to help her. Ed reminisced on everything that's occured with Nina
and dwells on his inability to do anything for her. Lt. Colonel Mustang has sent orders for Ed to continue Shou Tucket's research. However, Ed chooses
not to continue the gruesome work and wishes to investigate the serial murders that have been occuring aroun Central District. Even though the investigation could cost Ed his title as the Fullmetal Alchemist..and his life.
Thoughts
Quite the way to start off the new year, eh? Ed's still depressed over the loss of Nina and is trying to reassure himself that Alchemists do not kill people.
Al shows how good of a brother he can be to Ed, no matter how selfishly Ed thinks of himself at times. Barry the Chopper was..interesting to say the least.
Dub-wise, this wasn't too great emotionally on Ed's part (what a suprise that is). I couldn't feel anything for Vic's Ed like I did for Romi Paku's Ed. Small mistakes
here and there, but not too noticable. I just wish Ed's voice actor actually learned how the hell to display emotions properly and studied the Japanese episodes
to learn how Ed's emotions were handled. :\ Anyways, here's what we got..
Change of Dialogue
As Maes Hughes exits his car to investigate the crime scene, he makes note that he doesn't have time to go home and at least kiss his daughter good night
due to all these crimes. Originally he stated he couldn't even have enjoy a bath with his daughter. Small, meaningless change, but nevertheless, he was home
when they called him originally. :P
Change of Dialogue
During the talk with Al and the Fuhrer, King Bradley points out that Al is a good little brother for looking out for his older brother. Al then rubs the back of his
helmet out of flattery. This was changed to him saying that Ed must be very special to him and Al seemed more embarassed by it. Minor change yes, but I'm picky about it.
Side Note
I was actually impressed with Barry's voice and his disguise voice. Originally, Barry was voiced by two people. A female and a male. The dub kept one voice
and it seemed a helluva lot more logical to have Barry try disguising his voice, rather than be able to pull off having two different gender sounding voices.
Another thing I wanna point out is that Winry's voice sounded ALOT better than before. She sounded like a normal girl, whereas before her younger version's voice
made me wanna tear my ears off. Unfortunately, Ed's crying was just too damn pathetic in the dub. Vic didn't exactly scream his lungs out like Ed mentioned he did.
It doesn't even look like Vic even watched the original of this episode since Ed could barely even speak or breath and just broke down crying near the end.
Vic's Ed just simply sounded like he was crying over something minor. :\
Dub Error
Just how many times are they going to keep changing around the Fuhrer's title in the dub? They keep referring to him as the King, yet they later called him
the Fuhrer. To clear things up, his name is full name is King Bradley and his title is Fuhrer. So it's Fuhrer King Bradley. Even the letter handed to Ed points

Final Thoughts
The dub had its ups and downs, but without Ed's needed emotions, it didn't have that sad-tone in the dub like the Japanese version had.
