Thoughts
Truly a sad episode. Shou ends up resorting to going low once again by making another talking chimera, only out of his own daughter and dog. The fact
that he used his own family for his own curious nature was tear jerking, especially with the emotion displayed in the Japanese version. What about the dub?
Well, we have Scar's, Sheska's and Havoc's debuts. All of their voices were done perfectly. Scar sounded odd at first, but his tone changes and gets better.
Sheska sounds as dittzy as she should. Whoever did Havoc, though, should have had something in his mouth while he did the voice to make us believe Havoc
had a cigarette in his mouth. But besides that, his voice is good. I was VERY suprised that Nina's/Alexander's voices mixed together were remarkably close
to being the same as the Japanese version's. Another near perfectly translated episode, especially being uncut and uncensored. Only problems? Ed's
voice was very good in this episode..up until came the time for him to cry. It sounded VERY unconvincing. Al sounded pretty emotionless in this episode.
Aaand..
Mispronounciation
Shou Tucker's first name was mispronounced once again. Suprise suprise.
Dub Error
Fuhrer King Bradley was referred to as a King. This is not accurate since King IS his first name and a Fuhrer is very much different from a King.
Final Thoughts
My eyes were dried out during the English airing of this episode, mainly because I've seen the original too many times. But the acting and translation was near
dead on besides the fact that Ed's crying wasn't upto standard and Al sounded like a robot the whole episode. All in all, we have another near perfect dub episode.
