Thoughts
Well well, another near perfect episode. Pretty much every line was dead on in translation. Nina was ADORABLE in the dub. Shou Tucker's and King
Bradley's voices weren't too bad as expected. Gracia/Glacier had a nice motherly voice that Trisha didn't seem to have. All in all, the dub was excelent. As for
the original, this is a great way to introduce what troubles Ed and Al had to go through to take the State Alchemy Exams.
Mispronounciation
Just about the only thing I can report. Can't go one episode without a mispronounciation. Shou Tucker's name was pronounced as Shao (as in Sh-Ow)
Tucker. Makes me wonder how they can bungle up how to pronounce the names when they have full access to the Japanese versions. :\
Side Note
Maes' wife's name is abit undetermined. Her name in Japanese is pronounced exactly as it should be in English. However, according to the DVDs, her name is Gracia in the dub, while her Japanese name is Glacier. It's actually relatively the same thing, just different spellings. Thought I'd point that out.
Final Thoughts
Other than the mispronounciation, I've got nothing else to say. This episode was just about dead on perfect. I was actually able to tolerate Ed's voice. Al sounded
human. The dialogue was dead on. I'd say it was just about done properly. They even kept the Next Episode preview the same.
